In the upcoming series for example I will be covering Elizabeth Forbes’s beautiful Blackberry Gatherers (pictured here) and Harold Gilman’s sumptuously painted portrait, Mrs Mounter. Alongside work by familiar names, the workshops aim to introduce visitors to paintings within the gallery they might otherwise overlook. The workshops are broadly aimed at both amateur artists and complete novices who simply want to ‘have a go’ and either enjoy some relaxing painting or to challenge themselves with something new. This will be the second series of In the Style of… workshops, following a series I ran earlier this year. is a series of practical workshop sessions for adults that delves deeper into the working techniques of some of the great artists featured in our collection.
